MANILA, Philippines — Road safety seminars will empower senior citizens and will better promote their safety, an official of Land Transportation Office (LTO) said.

Versoza made the statements during a seminar for tricycle drivers and operators who are senior citizens.

The forum was held in Valenzuela city on Wednesday.

It was prompted by a memorandum issued by Malacañang directing national agencies to promote activities for the elderlies.

The directive is in celebration of Linggo ng Katandaang Filipino (Elderly Filipino Week) from October 1 to 7.
