LTO holds seminar meant to empower senior citizens on road safety

MANILA, Philippines — Road safety seminars will empower senior citizens and will better promote their safety, an official of Land Transportation Office (LTO) said.

“Mae-empower din natin ang ating mga senior citizen drivers sa pamamagitan ng pagbibigay kaalaman ukol sa road safety,” LTO National Capital Region Director Roque Verzosa said.

(Senior citizens can be empowered through the dissemination of road safety knowledge.)

Versoza made the statements during a seminar for tricycle drivers and operators who are senior citizens.

The forum was held in Valenzuela city on Wednesday.

It was prompted by a memorandum issued by Malacañang directing national agencies to promote activities for the elderlies.

The directive is in celebration of Linggo ng Katandaang Filipino (Elderly Filipino Week) from October 1 to 7.
