Ex-LP standard-bearer Mar Roxas joins Bongbong Marcos in Capiz
MANILA, Philippines — President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. on Friday led another round of rice distribution.
This time, he was joined by former Liberal Party standard-bearer Mar Roxas in Capiz.
Despite having been on different ends of the political spectrum, Marcos greeted Roxas as an old friend.
“Baka hindi nyo po alam, kami ni Mar, matagal na kami magkaibigan at kahit na hindi kami magkapanig kung minsan sa politika, matagal kaming nagsama sa New York at sana naman, habang nandito siya ay hindi na niya kinukwento ang nangyari sa amin nung nasa New York kami, dahil bachelor pa po kami, marami kaming mga adventure na magkasama,” said Marcos in his speech.
(You might not know, Mar and I have been friends for a long time, and even though we were not always on the same side in politics, we were together for a long time in New York, and I hope he has not been telling stories here about what happened in New York, as we were still bachelors then, and we had many adventures then.)

Roxas had also repeatedly condemned the President’s father, late former president Ferdinand Marcos Sr., for his imposition of Martial Law.
The former senator attended a demonstration against the Marcos dictatorship.
