MANILA, Philippines — Four people died in a house fire in Taguig City early Thursday, the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) said.
The blaze started at 3:54 a.m. at 336 Gumamela St., Katipunan Village, Barangay Western Bicutan, authorities said in a report, which did not indicate the names of the fatalities as of this writing.
“Under investigation pa po [‘yung cause of fire],” BFP Officer III Ana Joy Parungao said in a subsequent phone interview with INQUIRER.net.
Parungao added that an autopsy will be conducted on the bodies taken by Loreta Funeral Homes.
The BFP report mentioned that the fire that reached the first alarm by 4:07 a.m. was put under control by 4:22 a.m. It was declared extinguished by 4:37 a.m.
The BFP said one house was burned and that the cost of damage was estimated to be worth P200,000.
It likewise said that one family of five members was affected by the incident.
