Over P445K worth of smuggled meat seized in Cavite

MANILA, Philippines — The Department of Agriculture confiscated smuggled Indian buffalo meat in Dasmariñas City, Cavite on Wednesday.

The smuggled meat was found in a Kadiwa wet market through a joint inspection by the Department of Agriculture Office of the Assistant Secretary for Inspectorate and Enforcement (DA-IE), the National Meat Inspection Service (NMIS), and the Philippine Coast Guard.

Recovered in the inspection were 1,714.1 kilograms of Indian buffalo meat, worth P445,666.00.

The smuggled meat will be brought to an NMIS facility for immediate condemnation.
