DepEd orders blended learning for Teachers’ Day and BSKE

MANILA, Philippines — The Department of Education (DepEd) instructed elementary and secondary public schools to shift to various blended learning modalities on specific dates to give way for the incoming World Teachers’ Day and Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan Elections (BSKE).

The directive was in a memorandum issued by the department on Thursday.

“All in-person classes in public elementary and secondary schools, including community learning centers of the Alternative Learning System, shall shift to the various blended learning modalities,” it stated.

According to DepEd, the order is to allow teachers to participate in activities for World Teachers’ Day on October 5, and give them enough time to complete their election-related duties for the BSKE on October 30.
