MANILA, Philippines — The state weather bureau on Tuesday warned of possible flooding in the Mimaropa (Mindoro, Marinduque, Romblon, Palawan), Eastern Visayas and Caraga regions due to light to moderate rains spawned by the trough or extension of a low pressure area (LPA) 1,515 kilometers east of extreme Northern Luzon.
In its latest advisory, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said that the following rivers /tributaries may be affected and trigger floods:
Region IV-B (Mimaropa)
- Occidental Mindoro – Abra De Ilog, Caguray, Labangan, Lumintao, Anahawin, Monpong, Amnay, Pola, Pagbahan, Mamburao, Ibod, Bugsanga-Magbando
- Oriental Mindoro – Malaylay-Baco, Pulang Tubig, Mag-asawang Tubig, Butas, Pula, Agsalin, Bansud, Sumagui, Bongabong, Baroc, Bulalacao and Balete
- Palawan – Abongan, Lian, Barbakan, Rizal, Caramay, Langogan, Babuyan, Bacungan, Iwahig Penal, Inagauan, Aborlan, Malatgao, Apurauan, Baton-Baton, Aramaywan, Ihawig, Panitian, Pulot, Lamakan, Kinlugan, Eraan, Tiga Plan, Malabangan, Ilog, Bansang, Conduaga, Culasian, Iwahig (Brookes), Okayan, Canipaa, Busuanga, Coron.
Region 8 (Eastern Visayas)
- Eastern Samar – Oras, Dolores, Ulot, Taft, Borongan, Suribao, Llorente, Balangiga, Sulat
- Northern Samar – Catarman, Bugko, Pambujan, Catubig, Palapag, Mawo, Gamay
- Samar – Basey, Silanga, Calbiga, Jibatan
- Leyte – Sangputan, Palo, Solano (Quilot), Daguitan Marabang, Cadac-an, Bongquirogon, Salug, Pagbangahan, Pagsangahan, Binahaan
- Southern Leyte – Bisay, Himbangan, Pandan
- Biliran – All rivers and its tributaries
Region 13 (Caraga)
- Dinagat Islands – Malinao Inlet and Gaas Lulet
- Surigao Del Norte – Surigao and Magallanes
- Agusan Del Sur – Ojot, Wawa, Libang, Maosam, Kasilan, Gibong, Adgaoan, Simulao, Kayonan and Andanan
- Surigao Del Sur – Cantilan, Carac-An, Tandag, Tago, Hubo-Oteiza, Hinatuan, and Bislig
- Agusan Del Norte – Lake-Mainit-Tubay, Asiga, Agusan, Linugos and Cabadbaran.
Pagasa also told residents in mountainous and low-lying areas to take precautionary measures.
