IRR on streamlined telco permits launched
The Anti-Red Tape Authority (Arta) on Monday launched the implementing rules and regulations (IRR) of the law which streamlines the permitting process and construction of telecommunications and internet infrastructures, marking the next step in the government’s efforts to improve connectivity in the country.
Arta Secretary Ernesto Perez in his presentation showed that under the IRR, building permit applications with complete documentary requirements shall be acted upon by the different One-Stop Shop for Construction Permitting (OSCP) offices within a nonextendable period of seven working days.

“For post construction permits such as the Certificate of Use, Fire Safety Inspection Certificate, Certificate of Final Electrical Inspection and applications will be submitted to the one-stop shop and processed within seven working days,” Perez said.
Article continues after this advertisement“After payment has been made, the OSCP shall endorse the application for [business or mayor’s permit to the business one-stop shop] within three working days,” he added.
Article continues after this advertisementThe IRR for Executive Order No. 32, issued by Malacañang last July 4, was completed following a series of consultation meetings and workshops of a technical working group (TWG).
Arta is a presiding member of the TWG, while the Department of Information and Communications Technology sits as chair of the body. INQ
