MANILA, Philippines — A magnitude 3.5 aftershock following the 6.3 earthquake that jolted Cagayan on September 12 was recorded, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) said on Saturday.
According to Phivolcs, the aftershock in Dalupiri Island, Calayan, Cagayan at 5:05 p.m. on Friday.
The agency noted that Intensity III was reported in the same area.
This intensity was based on the actual shaking felt by people.
Meanwhile, based on the agency’s bulletin, the quake was tectonic in origin and had a three kilometer depth of focus.
Phivolcs said that they are not expecting damage from the tremor.
No further aftershock is also expected, the agency indicated.
