MANILA, Philippines — Amid the smog due to the air pollution in Metro Manila and haze from Taal volcano, Department of Health (DOH) issued several reminders to avoid potential hazards.

These pieces of advice were released after the smog from vehicular emissions and other pollutants covered parts of Metro Manila early Friday.

This condition occured while Taal volcano emitted vog in its surrounding areas.

Because of these two situations, DOH is asking the public to limit going outdoors to avoid exposure to the harmful smog.

It also encouraged people to wear N95 masks when outside their homes and to keep themselves hydrated.

For persons who are staying indoors, the health department says they may close their doors and windows to prevent smog from entering their homes.

“Mahigpit na ipinaaalala ng DOH na huwag magpawalang bahala at ingatan ang ating Kalusugan,” its bulletin said.

(DOH strongly reminds us not to take health for granted and to take care of it.)
