Trike driver stabs, hurts traffic aide

A 69-year-old traffic enforcer was stabbed and wounded by a tricycle driver after they argued over a traffic violation in barangay Poblacion, Lapu-Lapu City.

Themestocles Boholst of the City Traffic Management System (CTMS) sustained stab wounds in the chest, abdomen and arm.

The driver, Ryan Alegarbes, of barangay Gun-ob, Lapu-Lapu City, was arrested by police.

Boholst last Wednesday scolded the tricycle driver for stopping in the middle of Lopez Jaena Street causing a traffic jam.

Alegarbes got irked. He left after telling the traffic enforcer to wait for him.

A few minutes later, Alegarbes returned and attacked Boholst with a knife.

The traffic enforcer was taken to the city’s hospital./CORRESPONDENT NORMAN V. MENDOZA
