MANILA, Philippines — President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. on Tuesday led the oath-taking ceremony for 57 newly promoted Philippine National Police (PNP) star-rank officers and reminded them to always uphold integrity, ethics, and human rights. The President said  there will be “no room for leniency” for police officers who will engage in acts that would tarnish the reputation of the PNP and jeopardize the safety of the public.

“To our new officers here, I urge you to keep your integrity at all times and remain steadfast in your commitment to public service amidst the many challenges faced by your institutions,” Marcos said during his speech at the oath-taking ceremony in Malacañang.

Marcos emphasized that even though being a police officer comes with its difficulties, it is crucial for members of the police force to demonstrate their commitment to assist and ensure the safety of the public.

“So let us work together towards ushering a truly safe, just, and prosperous Philippines for every Filipino,” said Marcos.
