Senate finance panel OKs CHR’s P976.3M budget for 2024
MANILA, Philippines — The Commission on Human Rights’ (CHR) proposed budget for 2024 hurdled the Senate committee on finance on Tuesday.
Senator Jinggoy Estrada moved to approve the CHR’s P976.3 million budget for next year, noting that no senators would like to ask additional questions concerning the body’s spending plan.
“The deliberation of the proposed budget of the CHR and the Human Rights Violations Victims’ Memorial Commission is hereby deemed submitted to the plenary since no other senators are willing to question [the proposed allocation],” said Estrada, who presided over the budget deliberations.
Of CHR’s requested P976.3 million budget, P1 million is allocated for its confidential fund.
