3 alleged drug pushers busted in Lucena City

Wildlife trafficker nabbed in Lucena City buy-bust

LUCENA CITY — Police anti-narcotics operatives arrested on Tuesday three suspected drug pushers, and seized more than P132,000 worth of shabu (crystal meth) in a buy-bust operation in this city.

Lieutenant Colonel Ruben Ballera Jr., Lucena City police chief, reported that the operatives busted Edgar Rigor, 35; Danjo Betito, 29; and Jesus De Guzman, 44, around 1:20 a.m. after they sold P5,000 worth of meth to an undercover cop posing as a drug user in a transaction in Barangay Cotta.

The law enforcers confiscated 10 sachets of shabu weighing 6.5 grams, worth about P44,200 as per the Dangerous Drugs Board valuation.

The seized illegal substance is worth P132,600 in the street market at the prevailing price of P20,400 per gram, the report said.

Authorities are investigating the source of the drugs.

Police tagged the three suspects on the police drug watch list as drug pushers in the locality.

The report stated that Betito and De Guzman were previously charged with drug charges but did not state why and when they were freed.

The suspects are under police custody and are facing charges of violating the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
