Cebuanos advance in Henry Lee tennis tilt

CEBUANOS continued to march on in the 4th Henry Lee Memorial Age-Group Tennis Championships at the Manila Polo Club in Makati City.

Third-seed Arthur Craig “Igi” Diaz Pantino grabbed a quarterfinals ticket in the boys 14-under after defeating Mar Raphael Teng, 4-0, 4-1, in the third round.

The University of San Carlos netter will face 6th-seed Mimo Tomacruz next.

Pantino is also eyeing a spot in the quarterfinals of the 16-under as he faces Ralph Fernandez in the third round.

Kristin Renee Salimbangon also advanced in the girls 12 and 14-under categories.

In the 12-under, she blanked Katrina Bien, 4-0, 4-0, and will next face Maxine Martin.

In the 14-under, she routed Julz De Guzman, 4-0, 4-0, to face 2nd seed Dominique Ong.

Salimbangon’s younger brother, Cesar Kristofer, defeated Sebastian Lhuillier, 4-1, 4-0, in the unisex 10-under. He will next face Jugo Juan Enrique.

Jan Godfrey Seno was still playing against Christian Fel Lopez in the 14-under as of presstime.
