Pilot test of new K-10 curriculum on Sept. 25
The pilot implementation of the revised K-10 curriculum will start on Sept. 25 in 35 public schools from seven regions, the Department of Education (DepEd) announced on Sunday.
The test run will be conducted almost one month after the opening of classes on Aug. 29 as the DepEd took some time to identify the participating schools.
Based on the official list provided to the media, five schools each were selected from the regions of Ilocos, Cagayan Valley, Central Visayas, Soccsksargen (South Cotabato, Cotabato, Sultan Kudarat, Sarangani and General Santos), the Cordillera Administrative Region, Caraga (Agusan del Norte, Agusan del Sur, Dinagat Islands, Surigao del Norte and Surigao del Sur) and the National Capital Region.
In Metro Manila, all pilot schools will come from the Division of Malabon City including Dampalit Integrated School, Santiago Syjuco Memorial School, Muzon Elementary School, Tinajeros National High School and Santiago Syjuco Integrated Secondary School.
According to DepEd Memorandum No. 54, s. 2023, the school selection process for the pilot run went through a “meticulous approach” to make sure that it would reflect the diversity and complexity of the country’s education system. INQ
