A total of 10,816 law graduates are expected to take the 2023 Bar examinations that will start on Sunday, according to the Supreme Court. Of the total number, 5,832 are first-time examinees, while 4,984 are repeat takers or “taking the [Bar] for at least the second time.” The Bar exams will be held on Sept. 17, 20 and 24 at 14 local testing centers nationwide. The national headquarters will be at San Beda College Alabang in Muntinlupa City. Some 2,500 Bar personnel will be deployed to the designated venues to “ensure the smooth conduct” of the Bar exams, the high court said in a statement on Friday. The exams will be composed of six core subjects: political and public international law; commercial and taxation laws; civil law; labor law and social legislation; criminal law; and remedial law, and legal and judicial ethics with practical exercises. —KATHLEEN DE VILLA
