Manalo to lead PH delegation at 78th UN General Assembly in New York
MANILA, Philippines — Instead of President “Bongbong” Marcos, Foreign Affairs chief Enrique Manalo will lead the Philippine delegation to the 78th session of United Nations General Assembly (UNGA).
This event will be held in New York City in United States from September 18 until September 26.
In a statement on Friday, Manalo said on behalf of Marcos, he will deliver the Philippine national statement during the UNGA general debate.
“Guided by the President’s national development and foreign policy agenda, I will articulate the Philippines’ advocacies for respect for the rule of law and ambitious climate action, as well as our achievements and aspirations as a middle-income economy with an important voice in global affairs,” he said.
Manalo will be joined by officials from DFA, Department of Environment and Natural Resources led by Secretary Maria Antonia Yulo Loyzaga, Department of Health led by Secretary Teodoro Herbosa, National Economic Development Authority led by Undersecretary Rosemarie Edillon, and Department of Finance.
