Tanker needs equipment to pull it from Zamboanga spillway
PAGADIAN CITY — A tanker truck carrying 20,000 liters of gasoline is currently stuck in a riverbank in Baliguian town, Zamboanga del Norte province and needs heavy equipment to be extricated.
In a social media post, netizen Fel Mar said the truck partly fell off a spillway in Madom village around 5 a.m. on Thursday, while en route to Baliguian town to deliver gasoline to a Caltex gas station there.
The driver could have missed the spillway ramp while ascending from the river as its water swelled.
Concerned about the possibility of an oil spill, local authorities are seeking the immediate help for a heavy equipment to pull the tanker from the spillway.
