MANILA, Philippines — The state weather bureau said that locations in Region IV-B Mimaropa and Region 10 Northern Mindanao may be affected by floods brought by the southwest monsoon rains.
According to an advisory from the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) on Wednesday, rivers and tributaries in the following areas may swell and cause flooding:
Region IV-B Mimaropa
Palawan
-Abongan, Lian, Barbakan, Rizal, Caramay, Langogan, Babuyan, Bacungan, Iwahig Penal, Inagauan, Aborlan, Malatgao, Apurauan, Baton-Baton, Aramaywan, Ihawig, Panitian, Pulot, Lamakan, Kinlugan, Eraan, Tiga Plan, Malabangan, Ilog, Bansang, Conduaga, Culasian, Iwahig (Brookes), Okayan, Canipaan and Busuanga, Coron.
Occidental Mindoro
-Abra De Ilog, Caguray, Labangan, Lumintao, Anahawin, Monpong, Amnay, Pola, Pagbahan, Mamburao, Ibod, and Bugsanga-Magbando.
Oriental Mindoro
-Malaylay-Baco, Pulang Tubig, Mag-asawang Tubig, Butas, Pula, Agsalin, Bansud, Sumagui, Bongabong, Baroc, Bulalacao, and Balete.
Region 10 – Northern Mindanao
Lanao Del Norte
-Mandulog, Agus, Liangan and Maranding
Misamis Oriental
-Eastern Cagayan De Oro, Odiongan, Gingoog, Balatukan, Cabulig, Upper/Lower Tagoloan, Middle/Lower Western Cagayan De Oro, Iponan, and Alubijid
Misamis Occidental
-Clarin, Palilan and Aloran

Pagasa also told people living in mountain slopes, low-lying areas to take precautionary measures, urging the disaster risk reduction councils to be on alert.
