The Philippines is ready to extend assistance to the government and residents of Morocco following the magnitude 6.8 earthquake that claimed at least 2,800 lives, according to President Marcos.
In an X (formerly Twitter) post, the President said Filipinos were “deeply saddened to learn of the devastating” impact of the quake that hit the country on Sept. 8.
“We stand in grief and solidarity with you, and our prayers go to the families affected by this tragedy,” Mr. Marcos said.
“The Philippines is ready to offer assistance and any support that may be needed for the swift recovery of your nation,” he said, without giving details.
As of Monday, the Philippine Embassy in Morocco said no Filipino has been affected by the powerful quake.
