DOH logs 894 COVID-19 infections from Sept. 4 to 10

MANILA, Philippines — The Department of Health (DOH) on Monday said it recorded 894 COVID-19 infections from September 4 to 10, slightly higher than the 780 infections recorded the previous week.

Based on the DOH’s latest data, the latest weekly total translated to a daily average of 128 cases, 15 percent higher than the average of 111 from August 28 to September 3.

Ten infections — or 1.13 percent of the total cases — were tagged critical or severe, with active critical or severe COVID-19 admissions currently at 276.

A total of 14 deaths were recorded by the DOH, 11 of which occurred in the past two weeks.

With higher infections recorded, the utilization of ICU beds rose from 10.8 to 13.1 percent, while non-ICU bed utilization rate jumped from 13.9 to 15.1 percent.

Based on the DOH’s online tracker as of September 11, the country’s total COVID-19 caseload is 4,111,747 cases, with 4,042,419 recoveries, 66,681 deaths and 2.647 active cases.
