Pagasa: Rain in parts of Luzon, fairer weather in Vis-Min

LPA, pagasa weather forecast

MANILA, Philippines — The trough or extension of a low-pressure area (LPA)  some 860 kilometers east-northeast of extreme Northern Luzon will bring rain to several parts of Luzon on Tuesday, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said Monday afternoon.

The LPA, Pagasa said, has a slkim chance of turning into a storm in the next 24 hours, but will enhance the southwest monsoon or “habagat.”

“By [Tuesday] asahan ang mga pag-ulan pa rin dahil sa trough ng LPA sa may Batanes and Babuyan Islands, pero may pag-ulan din sa malaking bahagi ng Bicol region at maging sa may silangang parte ng mainland Luzon kabilang ang Quezon province, Aurora, Isabela and Cagayan,” said Pagasa weather specialist Benison Estareja.

(By Tuesday, expect rains due to the LPA’s trough near Batanes and Babuyan Islands, but there will also be rain in many parts of the Bicol region and even in the eastern part of mainland Luzon, including Quezon province, Aurora, Isabela, and Cagayan.)

Meanwhile, partly cloudy to overcast skies are expected to prevail over the rest of Luzon.
