Kadaugan goes global

Lapu-Lapu City’s Kadaugan sa Mactan will go cross-cultural with the participation of the Korean and European communities in Cebu.

City Councilor Harry Radaza yesterday said the Cebu Korean Association Inc and tourists from Nethedlands and Poland will participate in the weeklong activities.

Let’s Share TV (www.lets-share.tv) which is a group Dutch webmaster will feed video clips of the festival which honors the victory of the Mactan chieftain Lapu-Lapu over the Spanish-Portuguese conquistador Ferdinand Magellan in the 16th century.

Lets-share.tv will even partnered in various activities lined up on April 27 like the boxing matches, street dance competition,  Midnight Beer Run. andwill host the Wet T-shirt parrty complete with disc jockeys (DJ) from Europe,

Meanwhile, the Cebu Korean Association Inc. through head Kim Sam Hyun promised that aside from merely joining the events, they will also try to invite Korean Pop groups to perform in next year’s Kadaugan.

“If we can’t invite them over, we will personally present song and dance numbers,” said Hyun.

Radaza said this will make the Kadaugan truly cross cultural and an international event.
