Ineng, recent typhoons affect over P900,000 people nationwide — NDRRMC

Tropical Depression Ineng (international name: Yun-Yeung) and other recent weather disturbances have so far affected over 900,000 individuals nationwide, according to the National Disaster Risk Reduction Management Council (NDRRMC).

MANILA, Philippines — Tropical Depression Ineng (international name: Yun-Yeung) and other recent weather disturbances have so far affected over 900,000 individuals nationwide, according to the National Disaster Risk Reduction Management Council (NDRRMC).

NDRRMC said the combined effects of Ineng, Typhoons Hanna (international name: Haiku), Goring (international name: Saola), and the southwest monsoon have impacted 907,636 people, or 239,581 families, residing in 2,285 barangays across the country.

In its 8 a.m. bulletin, the NDRRMC likewise said that of the affected individuals, 3,328 were displaced, with 2,603 inside the evacuation centers (ECs) and 725 outside ECs located in Regions 1 (Ilocos), 3 (Central Luzon), 6 (Western Visayas), Calabarzon (Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal, and Quezon), and Mimaropa (Mindoro Oriental and Occidental, Marinduque, Romblon, and Palawan).

Aside from affected individuals, the agency also two reportedly died — one confirmed and another still up for validation. It likewise reported that three were injured and two were missing.

To aid people currently in ECs and other families affected, the council has distributed over P77,391,823 worth of assistance from the Department of Social Welfare and Development and various local government units.
