MANILA, Philippines — In response to the rush hour traffic caused by the resumption of face-to-face classes, the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) said that it is conducting studies to help ease vehicular congestion, particularly on Katipunan Avenue, Quezon City.

“We are looking at adjusting Ateneo de Manila’s (ADMU) entrance gate for vehicles without stickers to accommodate more vehicles that would lessen traffic congestion in Katipunan Ave.,” said MMDA General Manager Procopio Lipana during an early morning inspection on Thursday.

The official noted that vehicles from northbound and turning left to enter Ateneo occupy three lanes, affecting those heading southbound.

“We are also mulling on limiting the lanes they use into two during rush hours by putting traffic cones,” Lipana added.
