COTABATO CITY — Three suspected drug peddlers were arrested as law enforcers dismantled a drug den in Barangay Rosary Heights 10 here, leading to the seizure of some P7.8 million worth of meth on Friday.
Cotabato City Mayor Bruce Matabalao, who chairs the Inter-Agency Task Force Kutawato (IATFK), said the anti-drug operation was launched along LR Sebastian Street in Barangay Rosary Heights 10.
During the raid at 3 p.m., three persons were arrested and identified as Komini Mama, 31, of Cotabato City; Kasan Abdul, 31; and Yasser Sabal, 36, of Maguidnanao del Norte, according to the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency in the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (PDEA-BARMM) director Christian Frivaldo.
Another suspect managed to elude arrest.
The three suspects are now detained at the PDEA-BARMM detention facility while charges are being prepared against them.
Seized from the suspects were four huge sachets containing about 1.15 kilos of meth estimated to value P7,820,000, the buy-bust money, and a motorbike.
A day earlier, a joint team of police and soldiers dismantled a drug den and arrested six persons during an anti-drug operation in Barangay Bagua Mother.
PDEA-BARMM identified those arrested as suspected drug den owner Jennifer Pradi Maturan-Ali and her patrons Abduladzis Dandang Ali, Pagpag Lumabao, Sahid Linkuan, Esrafil Dading, and Akmad Giok, all residents of Cotabato City.
Another suspect was able to escape.
About P40,000 worth of meth, buy-bust money, mobile phones, and identification cards were seized from the drug den.
