More cases filed vs armed motorist in Makati road altercation — police
MANILA, Philippines — More cases were filed against the armed motorcycle rider who was caught on video in a road altercation with a police officer along Osmeña Highway in Makati City, according to the Southern Police District (SPD).
In a report on Friday, SPD said 48-year-old Angelito Rencio is facing additional charges after surrendering to authorities on Thursday evening.
During the initial investigation, SPD reported that Rencio presented several fake identification cards indicating his supposed affiliation with the Philippine National Police (PNP) and the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP).
This prompted authorities to file additional cases against him for violating Republic Act 493 (posing as a retired member of the Intelligence Service of the Armed Forces of the Philippines) and Art. 172 of the Revised Penal Code (falsification of public documents).
Police likewise served a warrant of arrest for qualified theft issued by Hon. Maricris B. Pahate-Felix, presiding judge of Regional Trial Court Branch 133, Makati City.
Aside from these cases, Rencio is also facing a complaint for violating Republic Act 10591 (Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act), Art. 177 (Usurpation of Authority), and Art. 151 (Resistance and Disobedience to a Person in Authority) of RPC.
