Palace suspends classes, gov’t work in Metro Manila on Sept. 1 due to bad weather

Malacañang on Thursday announced that classes are suspended for Metro Manila on Friday, September 1, due to inclement weather.

MANILA, Philippines — Malacañang on Thursday announced that classes are suspended for Metro Manila on Friday, September 1, due to inclement weather.

Government work is also suspended, except for those who deliver basic services, said the Palace.

“In view of the continuous rainfall brought by the southwest monsoon, and Super Typhoons ‘Goring’ and ‘Hanna’, work in government offices and classes at all levels in the National Capital Region are hereby suspended on 01 September 2023,” said the Palace in Memorandum Circular No. 30.

Suspension for work in private companies will be left to the heads of the companies.

Severe Tropical Hanna is set to intensify into a typhoon within the next 12 hours.
