The fire originated in a bakery and was reported to the authorities at 12:50 a.m. and was declared under control about an hour later.
The source of the fire was an unattended candle, Barangay Captain Romulo Wayway confirmed to Mayor Benjamin Magalong in a report.
Wayway also said the candle, originally lit to remember a deceased family member, may have set a tablecloth ablaze while the family was sleeping.
