MANILA, Philippines — The Land Transportation Office (LTO) said that it will help the Philippine National Police (PNP) in tracing the ownership of an abandoned vehicle that contained P1.3-billion worth of suspected methamphetamine hydrochloride or “shabu.”

Law enforcers found the vehicle, a red Toyota Avanza with the plate number ZGS 643, abandoned in a parking lot in Mabalacat, Pampanga on Friday.

“We will immediately act on this.

(The PNP can rest assured that the LTO will cooperate to determine the owner of this vehicle found in Pampanga, which contains illegal drugs. We will not stop until we have identified its owner and held accountable those behind this illicit activity.)

As of posting, law enforcement units are still investigating the case.

Mendoza added that the LTO will stand in the nation’s anti-crime drive.

“Eradicating crimes in the country is a whole-of-nation approach. We in the LTO remain committed to be part of these anti-criminality measures,” Mendoza said.
