Palace to host necrological service for late DMW Secretary Toots Ople

MANILA, Philippines — A necrological service for late Department of Migrant Workers (DMV) Secretary Susan “Toots” Ople will be held in Malacañang.

In a statement, DMW said it will be a private service.

“[The] necrological service for Ople will take place at 9:30 a.m. on Monday, August 28, at the Kalayaan Hall, Malacañang,” it said.

“It will be a closed private service,” the announcement specified.

“Secretary Ople’s remains will lie in state [until] 3 p.m.,” the department added.

Ople’s bereaved family and President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. will be in the event.

The Secretary’s remains will then be transferred to Blas F. Ople building of DMW in Mandaluyong city.

This is where public viewing and final services for the late cabinet member will start from 5 p.m. onwards.

DMW announced Ople’s death on Tuesday.

Ople died at around 1 p.m. on that day while she was surrounded by her loved ones.
