ETIQUETTE WORKSHOP

A SUMMER etiquette workshop on proper social skills, ideal visual posture and graceful dining will be held for the children and teenagers on April 26, from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m., at the Radisson Blu Hotel in North Reclamation Area, Cebu City.

This is to develop the participants’ confidence in school, at home and in any other places.

“Children develop polished social skills, a sense of decorum, a keen regard for others when they discover situational etiquette and practice in an enjoyable setting,” Pauli Antoine says of the program.

Antoine is the founder and president of Red Archon and Etiquette de Manille. She has more than 15 years of hospitality experience in the hotel and airline industries.

TALAMBAN YOUTH GROUP TURNS 1, GIVES FOOD

THE Talamban Youth Movement (TYM) gave porridge (pospas) to the children of sitio Cadadhuan and St. Anthony in barangay Talamban, Cebu City.

The outreach activity last April 9 marked the group’s first anniversary celebration.

The TYM members gave pospas to children playing outside their homes. “We (members) share our blessings after a year of being together by celebrating with the sitios with larger number of children,” said Kate Milbern Flores, a TYM member who spearheaded the event.

“Nalipay. Lami ang pospas. Mayta mu-balik pa sila sunod (I’m happy. The porridge tastes good. I hope they would come back),” one the recipients said.

Emmanuel Seno, another TYM member, said, “Dili kaayo daghan amu nahatag, pero fullfilling kaayo makakita nga nalipay ang mga bata (We gave only a few mugs of porridge, but nevertheless it was fulfilling to see the children happy).”

“It’s good to see nga naay nagpakabana nga youth sa atong community karon (It’s good to see that there is a concerned youth group in our community today,” said Lorenzo Entrolizo, a resident of Talamban.
