MANILA, Philippines — President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos is playing up to his party mates the importance of the outcome of Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan elections (BSKE).

He made this move as he swore in new members of Partido Federal ng Pilipinas (PFP) on Thursday.

“Now, certainly, PFP is a political party. And, therefore, that is why we are preparing for all the political cycles that are coming very soon,” he told PFP members.

“Ang una diyan, as we all know, tayo naman lahat ay dumaan diyan,” he began his speech.

(The first is, as we all know, we all went through that.)

“As we all know, the barangay elections have a big impact, have a big effect on how the 2025 elections will turn out, kung ano ‘yung mga resulta diyan (as to what the results will be),” he emphasized.

Marcos is the chairperson of PFP.

He told members if they want to win as political candidates, they must have support at the community level.

“It was incumbent upon us to now immediately try and organize ourselves so that we are prepared, because there is always a synergy,” said Marcos.

The Chief Executive told the audience to seek political alliances with other camps.

“I think it is opportune time to be able to say that after this, we are going to continue to talk to other political parties and come to an agreement with them para nga patibayin natin nang husto ‘yung ating grupo (so that we can fully strengthen our group),” he said.

“Kahit na nag-iiba ang ating mga partido, kahit na nag-iiba ang ating tinakbuhan ay pwede pa ring magtulungan,” he added.

(Even if our parties are changing, even if we run for different positions, we can help one another.)
