‘Night of tribute’ to be held for DMW chief Ople
MANILA, Philippines — Several government agencies will be paying tribute to the late Department of Migrant Workers (DMW) Secretary Susan “Toots” Ople.
The DMW, along with the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration and the Department of Labor and Employment, will hold a joint “night of tributes” and necrological service for Ople at the Heritage Memorial Park (Chapel 1) in Taguig City on Thursday.
The wake of Ople started at 6:00 pm on Wednesday in the said area and will be held until August 29.
Ople, 61, died “surrounded by her family and loved ones,” according to the DMW.
The DMW did not mention the cause of death, but Ople had been battling breast cancer before her passing.
