MANILA, Philippines — The number of students enrolled for the school year 2023-24 reached at least 17.3 million as of Tuesday, according to the Department of Education (DepEd).
The DepEd gave the exact figure as 17,389,572 in a Facebook post.
The following regions had the highest number of enrollees:
- Calabarzon: 2,915,796
- Metro Manila: 2,263,482
- Central Luzon: 1,933,651
The Cordillera Administrative Region had the least number of enrollees with 210,324 students.
Enrollment will continue until Aug, 26, according to DepEd.
The number of enrolled students the day before was 16.8 million.
