MANILA, Philippines — The Presidential Task Force on Media Security (PTFoMS) on Tuesday denounced the killing of a 32-year-old radio anchor in Cotabato City.

According to the task force, Mohammad Hessam Midtimbang was killed on Monday.

He was the host of a radio program called Bangsamoro Darul Ifta.

“We condemn this senseless act of violence as it has no place in our society,” PTFoMS director Paul Gutierrez said in a statement.

Gutierrez said the group is gathering information from the Philippine National Police and the 6th Infantry Division of the Philippine Army regarding the killing of  Midtimbang.

“Pending the result of the investigation as to the motive of the attack, we consider this as related to the work of the victim as a radio anchor,” Gutierrez said.
