Habagat to cause overcast skies and rains in Palawan, parts of Mindanao— Pagasa

MANILA, Philippines — Palawan and many parts of Mindanao are expected to have overcast skies with rains due to southwest monsoon or habagat on Monday, said Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa).

In its latest advisory, Pagasa said that aside from Palawan, regions in Mindanao, including Zamboanga Peninsula, Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao, Soccsksargen (South Cotabato, Cotabato, Sultan Kudarat, Sarangani, and General Santos City), and Davao del Sur are set to have cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms.

Metro Manila and the rest of the country can expect fair weather with partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms.

Pagasa weather specialist Daniel James Villamin said the state weather bureau is monitoring cloud clusters in the eastern parts of Mindanao.

Meanwhile, Pagasa did not raise a gale warning in any seaboards nationwide.

Pagasa projected the following temperatures in the areas:

Luzon

  • Metro Manila: 26 to 32 degrees Celsius
  • Tagaytay City: 22 to 31 degrees Celcius
  • Baguio City: 17 to 23 degrees Celsius
  • Laoag City: 25 to 33 degrees Celsius
  • Legazpi City: 26 to 33 degrees Celsius
  • Tugegarao City: 25 to 34 degrees Celsius
  • Puerto Princesa City: 25 to 30 degrees Celsius
  • Kalayaan Islands: 25 to 30 degrees Celsius

Visayas

  • Cebu: 25 to 32 degrees Celsius
  • Tacloban: 26 to 33 degrees Celsius
  • Iloilo: 26 to 32 degrees Celsius

Mindanao

  • Zamboanga City: 24 to 32 degrees Celsius
  • Cagayan de Oro: 25 to 32 degrees Celsius
  • Davao City: 24 to 32 degrees Celsius
