BAYOMBONG, Nueva Vizcaya — Four people were injured when the sport utility vehicle (SUV) they were traveling in fell down a 100-meter cliff in Sta. Fe town in Nueva Vizcaya on Saturday, August 19, police said.
The Innova SUV was badly damaged after it fell down the cliff in Barangay Baracbac at about 7 a.m. when the driver lost control of the vehicle while negotiating a curved and downhill part of the road, Santa Fe police chief Major Odlanyer Edrinal said in a report.
Edrinal said police, disaster responders, and firefighters were able to rescue passenger “Domingo,” 49, an accountant; “Jemma,” 48; 9-year-old “John”; and 48-year-old “Rose,” all residents of Barangay 119 in Pasay City. The police did not reveal the real names of the injured passengers, citing the Data Privacy Act.
The injured were immediately taken to the rural health unit for first aid and then rushed to the Region 2 Trauma and Medical Center in Bayombong, Nueva Vizcaya.
