LUCENA CITY — Two suspected big-time traffickers yielded P476,000 worth of “shabu” (crystal meth) when they were arrested in a buy-bust operation in San Pablo City, Laguna early Saturday (August 19), police said.

A report from Police Region 4A showed that Raul Roque II and Ma. Rosario Suarez were collared at around 2:14 a.m. after they sold P50,000 worth of shabu to an undercover cop in Barangay 2-C.

The suspects were found carrying six plastic sachets of meth weighing 70 grams placed inside a sling bag.

The seized prohibited substance has an estimated Dangerous Drugs Board value of P476,000.

Authorities also seized two mobile phones from the suspects which will be subjected to digital forensic examinations to determine records of drug transactions.

The police report indicated that the suspects are included on the drug watch list as “HVI” or high-value individuals in the local drug trade.

Police were conducting further investigation to identify the suspect’s network of drug pushers and their base of operation.

The suspects were placed under police custody and would face charges of violating the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
