De Lima to announce political plans next month
IF survey results were made basis, Justice Secretary Leila de Lima is among the favorite senatoriables in 2013.
But one of the most familiar faces in the cabinet of President P-Noy said she hasn’t given it much thought, at least, not yet this month.
“I refuse to think about it at this point because there are still many things, many work on my table,” she said.
But when asked how soon she will announce her political plans, De Lima said, “May would be an ideal month to decide. That’s exactly one year before the elections.”
De Lima said she needs to consult President Benigno Simeon Aquino III and her family regarding any plans to join politics.
De Lima criticized those who have started campaigning for next year’s polls.

Article continues after this advertisement“I never factor in partisan or political considerations in the things that I do. It’s really difficult to include politics in what you do. Since people think that I’m running, every time I make a decision, my detractors would think it’s because of my political ambitions. I don’t want people to think that way,” she said.
De Lima ranked 12th place in the list of possible senatorial candidates in the Feb. 26-March 9 Pulse Asia survey.
