LUCENA CITY — Anti-illegal drug operatives in this city seized more than P3.9 million worth of shabu (crystal meth) from two “high-value” drug traffickers in a buy-bust operation on Tuesday, Aug. 15.
Lieutenant Colonel Ruben Ballera Jr., Lucena police chief, in a report Wednesday, Aug. 16, said Angelo Tongo, 25, and Judel Gutlay, 33, were nabbed at 6:54 p.m. after they sold P30,000 worth of shabu to an undercover cop in Barangay Ibabang Iyam.
Authorities confiscated from the suspects 13 plastic sachets of meth weighing a total of 196 grams with an estimated Dangerous Drugs Board value of P1,332,800.
The seized meth is worth P3,998,400 in the street market at P20,400 per gram, the report said.
The police also confiscated a motorcycle believed to have been used by the suspects in their illegal drug trade.
Authorities are investigating the source of the drugs.
Police said both suspects were on the police drug watch list as high-value individuals in the local drug trade.

The suspect, who is based in Cavite province, yielded P8,160,000 worth of shabu in the street market.
All suspects are detained and facing charges of violating the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
