MANILA, Philippines — Negros Oriental 3rd District Rep. Arnolfo Teves is facing yet another case for murder, this time for the deaths of three persons in 2019.
Prosecutor General Benedicto Malcontento confirmed that the case has been filed before the Negros Oriental Regional Trial Court (RTC).
Aside from Teves, charged were Hannah Mae Sumerano, Richard Cuadra, Jasper Tanasan, Alex Mayagma and Rolando Pinili.
They were charged for the deaths of Michael Dungog, a former board member of the Third District of Negros Oriental who was killed on March 25, 2019; Lester Bato, a bodyguard for Basay mayoralty candidate Cliff Cordova who was killed on May 26, 2019; and Pacito Libron, alleged hitman linked to Teves who was also killed in 2019.
Justice Secretary Jesus Crispin Remulla said Negros Oriental is the initial venue of the case, which will later be transferred to Manila.
