FARMER STABBED IN HANTAK
A 53-YEAR-OLD farmer was stabbed and wounded by a habal-habal driver after they argued in a coin toss game locally known as hantak in barangay Mabuli, Tabogon town, northern Cebu.
Kenny Ochia sustained multiple stab wounds in the body and was rushed to a hospital in Bogo City.
The suspect, Ramil Sinoy, fled after the attack.
Police said it was not immediately known why the two men argued while they were playing hantak past 6 p.m. last Sunday./CORRESPONDENT RHEA RUTH V. ROSELL
WOMAN DROWNS IN CATMON POOL
A 24-YEAR-OLD woman drowned in a swimming pool in barangay Macaas, Catmon town, northern Cebu.
Police identified the fatality as Ruby Ann Bumaya.
Ruby Ann and her relatives had a gathering at the Aroma Mountain Paradise Resort last Sunday.
Vanessa Arche, 33, a relative of the victim, said Bumaya went to the pool alone around 9 p.m.
The woman was later seen floating unconscious in the pool. She was rushed to the Juan Dosado Memorial Hospital but did not make it alive.

MAN SHOT, HURT IN TALISAY
A 39-YEAR-OLD man was shot and wounded by a motorcycle-riding assailant in barangay Dumlog, Talisay City, last Sunday night.
Segfred Ermita was talking with friends by the road when two men on a motorcycle arrived.
The backrider drew a gun and opened fire, hitting Ermita in the back of the neck.
The assailants drove off after the attack while Ermita was brought to the Talisay City District Hospital.
