MANILA, Philippines — Former Manila Vice Mayor Danilo Lacuna died on Sunday morning.
This was confirmed by his daughter, incumbent Manila Mayor Honey Lacuna announced, in a social media post.
The mayor did not disclose the cause of her father’s death but said he was surrounded by his loved ones when he passed away.
“It is with immeasurable sadness that we announce the death of Hon. Danilo Bautista Lacuna, Former Vice Mayor of Manila,” she wrote on Facebook.
“Our beloved Daddy Dany joined his creator early this morning, August 13, 2023, surrounded by his loved ones,” she added.
Lacuna requested the public to join them as they celebrate her father’s “new life in paradise.”
“Danny touched many, creating a life which spans further than just his heart and into the hearts of us all where he will remain forever,” she said, describing the former Manila vice mayor as “a man of great service and compassion.”
