MANILA, Philippines – The Southern Police District (SPD) on Saturday said it arrested a former Army member for using counterfeit money in a store in Taguig.

SPD, in a statement on Saturday, said Kevin Jhon Soncio, 30, was nabbed at about 9:50 p.m. on Friday, August 11.

“[A] minor witness was in charge as cashier in the sari-sari store when the suspect paid P1000 as payment for one pack of cigarettes. Witness examined the said bill and he discovered that the said money was fake with the same serial number as the one he received on July 30, 2023,” SPD said.
