Nueva Vizcaya diversion road to ease traffic, spur economic activity — DPWH
MANILA, Philippines – The Bayombong-Quezon-Bagabag Diversion Road has been designed to decongest heavy traffic and spur economic activity in the area, Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) Secretary Manuel Bonoan said on Thursday.
Construction of the 3.5-kilometer, two-lane project kicked off Thursday, while civil works began in May and are 12.72 percent complete.
“The construction of this road will not only divert traffic along Maharlika Highway but also serve as a quick and safe way around it. The project will also greatly benefit the livelihood of residents along the traversed areas,” Bonoan said.
The DPWH has allocated P84.3 million for road construction, which is targeted for completion before the end of the year.
In February, the DPWH also opened the Solano-Bayombong bypass road, which aims to reduce Manila-Nueva Vizcaya travel time by less than an hour.
