Why the proclamation delay? SC asks Comelec
The Supreme Court has decided that the duly elected congressman of Zamboanga del Norte’s first district is Roberto Uy Jr.
The Supreme Court also gently reminded the Commission on Elections (Comelec) that it should have declared Uy the winner immediately after election results showed him having the most number of votes.
In the 2022 elections, Uy competed ran against Romeo M. Jalosjos Jr., Frederico Jalosjos and Richard Amazon. But the proclamation of Roberto Uy Jr. was delayed because of an unrelated case one Jalosjos filed against the other. —JACOB LAZARO
