Pagasa: Rain, cloudy skies in parts of PH on Thursday due to ‘habagat’
MANILA, Philippines — Overcast skies and rainfall due to the southwest monsoon or “habagat” are expected in several parts of the country on Thursday, according to the state weather bureau.
In its Wednesday afternoon bulletin, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said Occidental Mindoro, northern portion of Palawan, Western Visayas, Zamboanga Peninsula, Basilan, Sulu, and Tawi-Tawi are expected to have cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms due to “habagat”.
Metro Manila and the rest of the country are expected to have generally fair weather with cloudy skies and isolated rain showers and thunderstorms.
Pagasa did not raise a gale warning nationwide.
Storm update
Meanwhile, Pagasa weather specialist Chenel Dominguez said Severe Tropical Storm Lan is still outside the Philippine area of responsibility.
Article continues after this advertisementIt was last spotted some 2,510 kilometers east northeast of extreme Northern Luzon.
Dominguez said this tropical cyclone is unlikely to enter PAR and affect the country’s weather condition.
