MANILA, Philippines – A family member of the retired professor, whose house was allegedly ransacked by members of the police raiding team in a viral video, filed administrative cases against the nine police officers on Tuesday.

The complaint came after the police launched an anti-illegal drugs operation at the house of Rebecca Caoile in Cavite on August 2, the video of which went viral on social media on Monday.

The video showed police officers using a wooden log to enter the retired professor’s house forcibly. When they were inside, some members of the raiding team were seen taking various items from the house such as motorcycle wheels.

“Coordination was made with Cavite PIAS [provincial Internal Affairs Service], and a separate administrative complaint was filed [with] NIAS [national Internal Affairs Service or Philippine National Police – IAS] [at] Camp Crame by a family member of the arrested suspect,” the Cavite PNP said.

Two were arrested in the operation, and six pieces of plastic sachets containing suspected crystal methamphetamine or “shabu” worth P136,000 were recovered along with the P500 bill used as mark money.

Cavite Provincial Police Office Director Colonel Christopher Olazo ordered the relief and reassignment of the nine officers and the surrendering of their service firearms while the investigations were being done.
