ANGELES CITY, Pampanga — Policemen arrested a British man and his Filipino cohort in a buy-bust operation that resulted in the confiscation of some P442,000 worth of “shabu” (crystal meth) in the City of San Fernando, police said on Monday, Aug. 7.

In a statement, Central Luzon police director Brigadier General Jose Hidalgo Jr. identified the arrested suspects as Philip Joseph Craig, 53, and Duane Manuel, 45, both residents of this city.

Pampanga and San Fernando policemen conducted a sting operation around 3:30 p.m. in Baliti village against the duo, who yielded 65 grams of suspected shabu, Hidalgo said.

Policemen arrested the suspects and confiscated the pieces of evidence that included the suspected shabu, a mobile phone, and the marked P1,000 bill used by the undercover policeman. They also impounded the car used by the suspects.

Hidalgo said the suspects would be charged with violating the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.

“Continuous operations are being carried out as Police Regional Office 3 strengthens its efforts to wipe out all forms of illegal drugs in order to achieve a drug-free Central Luzon,” he added. INQ
